Just out of boredom, and my newly found interest in playing Dark Con again since its been a few years (at least one?) since i got the chance.

What does everyone want to see at this years game? I'm personally hoping for a reemergence of quality evil to take down. Maybe a group of characters that it would take multiple groups to compete against? something for the average player to strive for again.

They have 2 to 3 events per day as it is.  Any more and things would get ridiculous.

More players distributing booze and baked goods.  And maybe one for pizza or beef jerky this year.

Of all the cookies I handed out last year, I maybe got 2 Devotion as a direct result =(

I would like to see more overall paranoia and reasons to stray far from Malice's.  I recall games at the Hilton long, long ago where players could literally be on any of the 28ish floors at any given time.  Simply taking free fire down in Malice's doesn't seem to really generate adequate paranoia.  There's still too many witnesses.

I love Malice's - even without the free fire - and it's just about the whole reason I played the first time - as someone who has as much problems walking as I do - having a central place to play where I don't have to kill myself trying to find everyone I need is really great.

I understand that it'd be more fun for some of you to scatter to the wind - but for those who don't really have that option - I thank the owners for Malice's.

I do, however, agree that more paranoia can be fun.

Really, I just want to see more paranoia (backed with good reason to be paranoid).  Straying from Malice's is just a suggestion to achieve that.  Another suggestion is a villain(s) with the means to cause some mischief (but not too much damage) and powerful means to escape and/or avoid damage.  This character might be more inclined to actually call confrontations inside Malice's when free fire is down against more than just NPCs.  Another suggestion might be a better balance of good and evil to create more PvP instead of players vs NPCs.

Once upon a time, organizations had to have secret meeting places far away from the majority of players in order to discuss their plans discreetly.  Now these meetings take place either in Malice's or within earshot of Malice's. These days, everyone pretty much knows everyone by the end of the first day.  Once upon a time, the real sinister types would not reveal themselves till the very end.  I used to stalk people in the dealer's room cause I could hide among the crowds.  Yes, players actually went to the dealer's room in character.

Haha you know, the couple of years I've played now. I think I've always kind of "logged out" when i left malices or at least the hotel the game is present in. I think this year I might actually try to stay in the game even if I leave the direct area everyone is involved in. Even if it likely means I'll get jumped somewhere along the way.

Last year there were three or four people in character standing in front of the Sheraton.

I was in character working the graveyard shift in the card gaming room [or would quickly go into character if someone came by - the cards got in the way sometimes and I'd take them off] - I even let people know I'd be down there - but didn't have anyone calling on me.

I had all sorts of secret goings on outside of Malice's last year.

No, I'm not telling you where.

I do think that in the years we have been more active in character outside of Malice's we ended up with more new players  joining up. It's a bit of good advertising for the game.  ( Maybe we should create some Blipverts for DCTV or better yet figure out how to have one or two events happen in a prestaged fake panel somewhere, our characters are after all at the con too. )  It would be really cool if we could get one or more of the tracks in on it along with some of the other LARPs.

Take the convention scene from Chasing Amy and replace it with a confrontation happening in the middle instead of fake gun fire Smiley   It would be like taking some of the events in Malice's

It would take a bit of work to set up, but might be a good source for new players. And re-inject some cross con events.

One of my favorite DarCon moments was scouring the Beach at Hurricon with the Pirate Zombies looking for the treasure.

That's part of the point of the Fan Table.  I'm hoping for a steady stream of players in character running back and forth between Malice's and the Fan Table.

I noticed no one has said naked Thomas.  But that's ok, you're going to get it anyway.
